What is a product positioning statement?

A product positioning statement forces you to use a one page format to summarize everything that matters for your product. Here is a template for a positioning statement.

  • For[target customer]
  • Who wants/needs[a compelling reason to buy]
  • The[product name] is a[product category]
  • That provides[these key benefits].
  • Unlike[the main competitor],
  • The[product name] [provides these key differentiation points].
