How do I get started building a marketplace?

Here are a few tips to getting started building a marketplace:

  • Start small and build demand in the marketplace manually. Think Excel spreadsheets and emails. Once you find what works begin automating by building technology.
  • Spend more time talking to and supporting the side of your marketplace that pays for access.
  • Carefully weigh the benefits of opening new markets for physical in-person experiences (expanding geographically).
